Released in the 1990s to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of Contax, only 1600 of these cameras were produced. The golden parts of the metal are 24-carat gold plated. The camera has lived in the included semi-hard case all its life and it shows. Sadly, the camera started developing a flash burn about a year ago and there is minimal corrosion in the battery compartment. When on flash mode, sometimes the flash does not fire and the camera seems to stop operation. When this happens the shutter stays open and the film does not advance until I take the batteries out and place them back in then turn the camera off and on again. Flash seems to work when the camera is turned on for more than 10 seconds. On all other modes, this solid piece of late 80s tech performs beautifully.
The lens is in immaculate condition. Sporting a super fast and sharp Carl Zeiss Sonnar 2.8 / 38 T this camera produces some of the clearest and most colour accurate photos in its class. There are no fog, mould, or scratches on the lens and the aperture wheel feels new. (Photos from the latest roll taken on this camera coming soon). The cameras other optics is also clear. The viewfinder is in perfect condition with all of its overhead display lights fully operational. The camera's self-timer and all of its manual settings work perfectly. The film compartment is very clean with light seals all in mint condition. Please check photos for reference. Video of camera's operation. Wooden camera display case Contax T2 semi-hard case.
