PLEASE CHECK MY OTHER ITEMS FOR SALE.Lederer Watches, BLU(Bernhard Lederer Universe) is a Swiss luxury watch brand founded by Bernard Lederer, a watch maker and designer. In his apprenticeship days Bernhard Lederer loved to work on extraordinary and complicated timepieces. With intelligence and purpose he studied the art of watchmaking and thought himself into the minds of the Great Masters but drew personal conclusions. The young German watchmaker had his own vision of time and was eager to apply the newly acquired knowledge in an exciting and innovative context. Today, Bernhard Lederer has made a name for himself with an original collection of stunning watch designs and audacious time display interpretations. While the traditional Swiss made hallmark bears little to no significance for BLU timepieces, the Bernhard Lederer Universe company relocated from Germany a little less than a decade ago because Switzerland is internationally recognized as the core of modern watchmaking, and even more importantly for the young watch brand, it evokes a magnetic attraction to all travellers, philosophers and technicians in time.. Bernhard Lederer The Gagarin Tourbillon with the world map, crafted 18k Rose Gold polished finished round shaped case, with integrated rotating magnifying glass... To say that Bernhard Lederer was no lightweight in watchmaking would be an understatement. To the unacquainted, Lederer has been a qualified Master Watchmaker since 1984, a short year later, he became a founding member of the Horological Academy of Independent Watchmakers (AHCI). Bernhard Lederers philosophy is to create timepieces that tell the time without imposing it on the viewer, allowing the wearer to appreciate the beauty of time without being stressed by it racing by. What is really interesting about this watch is that it comes with an integrated magnifying glass, so that the wearer can truly enjoy all of the details of the dial and the tourbillon. With this unusual addition, Bernhard Lederer actually wanted to give the wearier a since of looking out of the Vostok spacecraft back at Earth. The aforementioned gorgeous 60-second flying tourbillon is orbiting the dial counterclockwise, making one revolution each 108 minutes, which is the exact duration of Gagarin's epic flight. The tourbillon cage is quite unique, as it forms the word "VOSTOK, " referring to the famous Russian Antarctic research station and the name of Gagarin's flying capsule. Last but not least, the tourbillon looks as if it is supported by a slender curved arm, which is a nod to the 25m-high commemorative statue at Gagarins landing site near Engels.
Its powered by a mechanical manual winding movement, developed and produced by Bernhard Lederer in Switzerland. It features three mainspring barrels and thus provides about 80 hours of power reserve. All of the 264 components and 35 jewels, embedded in the core of this watch, were entirely designed, developed and manufactured by Bernhard Lederer.. This watch is an homage to Yuri Gagarin, the first man in space.
He was blasted into orbit via the Russian Vostok-1 rocket and then orbited around a bit before coming back down. The Gagarin Tourbillon tries to memorialize this with a tourbillon that acts as a satellite around the dial of the watch. It travels over city names and places like the original satellite did.. The Gagarin Tourbillon features a 60 second flying orbital tourbillon, an integrated rotating magnifying glass allows appreciation of details on the dial. Looking through the loupe to the dial is reminiscent of looking out of the Vostok space capsule towards the earth.
The mechanical manual winding movement was entirely developed and produced by Bernhard Lederer in Switzerland. The Gagarin Tourbillon is a Limited Edition of 50 pieces in Rose Gold.. The Gagarin Tourbillon features a 60-second orbital flying tourbillon that rotates counterclockwise (symbolising east) 360° around the dial in 108 minutes, which is the time Gagarin took to orbit the earth in the Vostok capsule. The tourbillon appears to be suspended by a sweeping bridge inspired by the large 25 m (82 ft) commemorative statue at Gagarins landing site near Engels. The tourbillon cage is formed by the word VOSTOK spelt vertically and curved around its perimeter.. Reading the time on this watch is very simple, an almost intuitive experience. Complications for complications sake are certainly not Bernhard Lederers cup of tea. Mechanisms and aesthetics are very closely linked. In fact, I would say they are totally inseparable in my watches. Both elements are vital, from the outset of a new concept or watch design and are the key ingredients to finding new, fascinating and inventive ways of displaying the continuous flow of time. BLU creations do not follow the watch industrys marketing trends each Bernhard Lederer Universe watch design is inspired by and is the result of a collective enthusiasm, a common goal to attain perfection and to be distinctive. An integrated rotating magnifying glass allows appreciation of details on the dial..
